I'm Gaurav Kumar. The Urban Jungle began with the dream my father brought with him from India.
When he arrived in New York, my dad worked job after job and saved what he could. Together with our family, he built Tropical Plants and Orchids from that hard work. Nearly 25 years later, it’s still here—proof that he made his dream real. Now it’s my turn: I’m here to take over, expand it, and look after everyone who helped build it along the way.
After college, I came in to help him grow it. At first I was learning everything I could. Then I started sharing our work on TikTok and Instagram and thinking about what else we could become. I kept coming back to the same idea: plants don’t just fill a room or a garden; they change how it feels.
That’s why I started The Urban Jungle. I’m bringing my dad’s experience, our team, and the plants we know into interior spaces, outdoor landscapes, and events. This is a new chapter, and I’m excited to see where we can take it together.
We also source and install artificial trees when a space needs that look without a living plant.
